Role play and simulation acting

Miscommunication, either conscious or unconscious happens everyday and can cause serious problems. Behavioural learning and practical simulation shows high results in change of behaviour. The aim of role play or simulation acting, is to create a deeper understanding of skills that are helpful in dealing with difficult situations and/or challenging people. With a professional role play actor, personal habits and blind spots are addressed in a playful manner to help a person change in an empowering and very suitable, applicable way. Crafting a situation close to workplace reality, helps re-routing pragmatic approaches and start a healthy process of questioning existing work culture in a positive way.
'Everyday is a different one and every person is special.'

I'm specialised in 'non-verbal communication', and use that in my feedback to make things clear and guide subconscious habits to the surface.

I worked with employees of varying industries, including: managers, teachers, directors, mental health workers, prison wardens, youth care and healthcare workers.

Topics include: Aggression, 'contract/time/project management', leadership and motivation skills, safety and communication to superiors, robbery, shoplifting, solicitation training, interrogations and conflict managing. I've even placed bombs at banks and train stations!

Here are some quote's from people I work with

You understand the art of true contact.
In admiration I watched you creating a becoming image from a brief instruction of a course participant.
You are able to 'fine tune' your instrument to the learning needs of the people you work with, and recall very specific, what happened during the simulation. you work profoundly and at the same time you manage to keep it simple, safe and accessible for the participants.
Marion Broekhuis,
Clinical case manager
Dijk en Duin, Parnassia Group.

Roel can portray credible behavior like no other!
Painfully annoying, troublesome situations, are simulated in a recognizable way. He has a talent to genuinely react to the behavior of the participant within the role-play. Because of his great observation abilities, he manages to give a tangible overview why he reacted like he did within the simulation. Besides that his behavior steerage to the plane where the participant needs to gain experience and carry into effect different interventions. From the situation I can read, Roel takes interest in our field of work and is fully aware of the communication techniques we use. In his work he has a way to get participants at ease and work with him.
His feedback is very constructive and respectful.
Renata Hijman, Pieter-Jan Algera
Trainers 'Stichting de Jutters'. Youth care.
I know Roel as an experienced and convincing actor, who lays down behavior of psychiatric patients in a lifelike way. This opinion of mine is ratified by students their evaluation at the end of the course, when they give their feedback about our actors.
Talking about feedback, especially here, Roel carries special potential. He mirrors people's behavior expressively, especially the non-verbal side of the communication.
Roel translates and gives back directly within the role-play, whatever the course participant's behavior causes him to do.
As well the large extents, as the specific points of the feedback, he manages to give back in positive way, this creates a beautiful learning curve with the students.
My cooperation with Roel as an actor I view as very positive. Roel follows my directions easily and mostly adds valuable ideas to my suggestions.
